Late War SS Bergfuhrer Breast Cloth Badge.
Very rare and well discussed item on the forums. The badge was instituted in late 1944 for qualified mountain guides in the Waffen SS. The oval badge is very similar to the standard SS edelweiss arm patch normally seen, but with one difference the Bergfuhrer lettering under the flower. These were attached to the left breast pocket. The patch has light wear to the highlights on the pleated part of the pocket, please see photos provided. We have spent sometime studying this badge and comparing known original manufacturing methods and materials and feel that this is one of the very few originals ever offered for sale.
