One of the rarer types issued in Ireland, as the Royal Irish Constabulary service whistles were re-issued to the RUC after partition in 1922 as a cost effective measure, so production levels were lower for the newly form Police force. This piece has been chromed which was normal if re-issued. The whistle is marked for J.Hubson & Co 244 Barr st.
