The Imperial Japanese M1899 Type 32 Cavalry Sabre (Gunto) was a standard military sword adopted in 1899, featuring a shallow curved, single-edged blade, a distinctive D-shaped steel guard, and a wooden, checkered grip, used by cavalry and other troops through WWII. Very good example with original portapee. The scabbard has been wrapped in a impregnated waterproof rope. Slight discolouring to the crossguard with standard imperial stamps. Blade is in excellent condition with serial number stamped at hilt.
