Presentation Shooting Utility Knife Capt R.Tanfield Vachell RFC.
Interesting knife with history, belonging to Richard Tanfield Vachell who volunteered during the Great War and served in the Northumberland Fusiliers and later in the Royal Flying Corp, subsequently dying of injuries while flying with the RFC . The knife was given to Richard while he enrolled in Harrow school in 1905, given by his father. The knife is in good condition, but has been used. All the metal implements have darked with age but are still functional. The knife displays a polished steel outer casing.
