RUR/2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment, Arnhem POW, Belfast Man.

Extensive archive relating to a local man. He joined the Royal Ulster Rifles at the start of the war and then transferred to the 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment prior to Operation Market Garden. 

He was taken prisoner at Arntem, when he was surrounded by German forces while injured. Transferred to two Stalag camps while a POW. He survived the war while many of his comrades died and lived a long happy life into his nineties.

The collection is a testament to his life and incorporates many items relating to his service and commemorative events. We will list just afew of the pieces which are included in the archive.
