Rare Amalgamation Badge for the 41st and 69th of Foot.
Rare and possibly unique unofficial sport badge measuring 14cms x 12cms
The Welsh regiment was formed by an amalgamation of the 41st and 69th of foot in 1881. The badge itself is very hard to date but I would say late 19th century. We have done some research into the records and have found that the Welsh Regimental museum was not even aware of its existence of this pattern of badge. The badge has been removed from a garment of some type and has the remanences of the original stitching. Well worth additional research into its origin.
