Handmade Embroidered British Patriotic WWI Period Stable Type Belt.

Very interesting piece produced just after the Great War. The belt has been embellished with the English rose, Union flag and the flag of St George with the reigning monarch's crown. The piece also has the War medal and victory medal ribbon incorporated into the weave. The belt has some discolouration due to light exposure, which would be expected. The back of the belt is cotton backed, which is still intact. The piece may have been made by a POW as there is some lettering on both ends of the belt MCH, POW, but we cannot be sure. Overall a great piece of history from the Great War period.
