This was worn by members of the SS Gebirgstruppen (Mountain Troops). It was worn on the right sleeve of both the tunic and the great coat. It is an oval shaped black cloth insignia with a silver/grey embroidered edelweiss, with a yellow stamen. This patch has been tunic removed and is in very good condition.
