British Royal Artillery Presentation Walking Stick 1867. The Presentation was made to Sergeant Major William Press by the Sergeants of his detachment 10th brigade regiment Royal Artillery, as a mark of esteem on his departure for Malta Quebec 29th July 1867. The Royal Artillery Insignia is proudly displayed at the top of the inscription.
The stick stands 88cms in height and is made malacca cane. The cane handle is carved from ivory with the inscribed metal band being bright gold in colour which has never been cleaned. Slight bruising and a small split to the tip of the stick. Great piece of history relating to the Early Royal Artillery.
