On Thursday, 25 July 1940, (a part of) the aircraft of the 15 squadron (RAF), took off for a mission to Wilhelmshaven in Germany from a station (airfield) in or near Wyton.
One of the crew members was Pilot Officer A L McLaggan. He departed for his mission at 23:30.
He flew with a Bristol Blenheim (type IV, with serial L9469 and code LS-). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Friday, 26 July 1940. The crew was shot down over Germany on active service sometime during the morning of the 26th July 1940. He was 20 years of age.
The memorial salver measures 60cms in diameter and came from the Glasgow area. Due to the substantial weight of the item an additional fee of £20 will be incurred for postage.
