British P-1879 Martini-Henry Artillery Sawback Bayonet.

Saw-backed sword Bayonet. Used by Artillery men and Engineers, these were essentially a fighting sword with a single D knuckle bar. Although intended for use with Carbines and Short Rifles, these weapons will fit both the MkII Short Lever & the MkIV Long Lever Martini Henry Rifles. The piece has some light pitting around the D Bar and slight discolouration to parts of the blade, which can be viewed in photos supplied. This piece is fresh to the market as it has been sitting in a loft for over 80 years.
