Royal Irish Constabulary Auxiliary Special Cadet Uniform
The Auxies, as they were best known were founded in July 1920 by Major-General Henry Hugh and made up of former British officers, most of whom came from Great Britain and had fought in the WWI. Due to a major increase in actions by the I.R.A. The Auxies were brought in to support the R.I.C. during the War of independence. The uniform consists of tunic & matching pants. The tunic has some wear around the collar and minor nips to the wool cloth as can be seen from the scans provided. We do have some scans of the uniforms possible owner on file, which we have decided to withhold for the purchaser.
