Rare Royal Hungarian Army Cavalry Sword "Horthy Regency"
Rare Royal Hungarian Army Cavalry Sword "Horthy Regency"
The blade were manufactured by St Gotthard between 1933 and 1944. Held by the Hungarian War Office and issued to cavalry regiments for the use of officers when and as required. The blades were known to have been assembled by various companies, ie Pacholek, Zelinka and Kozak. This type of sword was carried by cavalry Officers on operations on the eastern front and in the Balkans on anti-partisan raids. The weapon itself has no maker mark and is highly polished finish, both to the scabbard and blade alike. The hilt incorporates a floral design and black snake skin type material. The scabbard has some minor age spots in areas but nothing major. Overall a very desirable and scarce edge weapon from within the fascist alliance.
